The hypothesis, as registered
Most strategies on this bench buy what has already moved. This one buys what has a reason to move and has not: if a headline is genuinely new and the price has not reacted, the reaction is still ahead. It is the only hypothesis here that tries to arrive before the move rather than after it.
The rule
Among the finalists: at least one headline under 12 hours old, yesterday's move under 2% either way, and the pre-market — when it traded — also within 2%. Take the most fresh headlines; ties go to the higher quantitative score. Abstains when nothing is both fresh and quiet.
